Beavers Have a Hoot !

In November the 1st Fort Saskatchewan Beavers> hosted an amazing presentation on owls. Mr Ray Cromie is a retired teacher and his lifelong hobby has been banding owls.

The presentation was filled with lots of interesting facts, owl calls, stuffed owls and a highlight was been able to see and even touch a live barred owl. This owl was hit by a car 3 years ago. Instead of being destroyed the owl was kept and makes these presentation even more special.

We were able to have both Cub groups in attendance as well as a 4H group studying birds. Our own Rockford Lang was even able to attend. (the owl found him interesting).

Everyone in attendance most certainly learned something new about owls - oh we had a HOOOOT !
